You can call me James or Jimmy! ...just not Jim.

ABOUT

Since graduating with his Masters in vocal performance from Indiana University, James has been working across the country in opera but mostly musical theatre. His comedic timing combined with his powerful baritone voice have brought to life the likes of Buddy the Elf, the D'Ysquith Family, Adolfo Pirelli, Steven Kodaly, Major-General Stanley, and Prince Charles among others.

Most recently, James has been living and working in Florida having moved down in 2025 to be a part of the opening team of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, a live entertainment offering in Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort which opened on May 27, 2025. Having always wanted to work 'for the Mouse' since he was a teenager, James eagerly accepted the offer to become friends with a certain piratical villain and has performed more than 1,500 shows for the tens of millions of guests that visit Disney's Florida resort each year. In addition to Disney, James also had the opportunity to don the furry green visage of the infamous Grinch who stole Christmas at Universal Orlando Resort's holiday offering Grinchmas. It runs from November-January each year and in 2025 James had a crash course in improvisation as a meet and greet Grinch. The two hour prosthetic application aside, it was an incredible experience that he loved dearly. Unfortunately, James' hope for setting down new roots in Florida eroded during his time in the south: one doesn't truly appreciate the seasons until they don't exist anymore. The pleasures James found in hiking, working outside, walking and running, etc. were near impossible in the subtropical climate which dominates the majority of the year. After much thought and deep reflection, James decided to hang up his hook and depart Florida in October 2026 to return to the Tri-State Area. While he will miss the friends and community he developed in Florida (not to mention his plant, Frederic), he is looking to returning to his network up north and being closer to his family.

James began pursuing interests behind the scenes in the last few years exercising his administrative and creative skills as a stage director, musical director, production designer, video designer, and producer. His ability to conceive, plan, and execute with adept precision and maximum efficiency have helped keep his productions organized. Much like his gingerbread "houses," there's a lot of heart behind the art which he likes to invest into his work.

Aside from professional pursuits, James is a freelance voiceover artist, illustrative artist, calligrapher, and composer/orchestrator. You can learn more about those endeavors on this site (James highly recommends visiting the Gingerbread page for a look-see of the aforementioned "houses" which have twice given him notice by the Food Network).
